Bill Powers, P.E.
Bill is a registered professional engineer. Bill has extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of energy and environmental engineering, air emissions control, and regional energy planning. He is a qualified expert witness before the California Public Utilities Commission.
Barbara Jaffe-Rose, BS & MPA
Born and raised in NYC, Barbara went to school in Boston, Ma, and moved to San Diego in 1987. In San Diego Barbara has been involved in many areas of community activism. In 2020 during the COVID lockdown, she helped found the movement for non-profit public power in San Diego. Her strengths include leadership, organizational development, event planning. Barbara’s goals at PPSD are to work for and achieve, energy justice, a healthier planet and a stronger democratic society.
Mark Hughes, BSME
Mark has a BSME in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University. He spent his career in the power generation industry, first working with coal-fired power plants and later with gas turbine-driven generator sets. He’s done consulting work at both investor-owned and municipal power plants, and worked for Kansas City Power and Light for some years.
Isaiah Glasoe
Isaiah studied engineering, architecture, and film production in college. Early in his career he worked on several local San Diego documentaries and owned/operated his own video production company. Isaiah has extensive experience in creative directing, people management, and organizing. Most recently working for SEIU 221 and the Power San Diego PAC.
Craig D. Rose
Craig was a reporter at The San Diego Union-Tribune for 21 years. He covered the energy beat for a decade. He is a founder of Public Power San Diego and lives in Tierrasanta.
Gail Viamonte, PhD
As an educator, administrator, and organizational consultant, Gail has worked with a variety of individuals and organizations to further their growth. She’s collaborated on program design and delivery, cross-sector partnerships, project management and development, and product review and creation. Gail’s advocacy has included several volunteer leadership positions as well as community activism. Gail began her involvement with PPSD as a signature collector and validator.
